Copenhagen UN summit: ‘The most important meeting in history’

In December 2009 in Copenhagen (Denmark) the world’s governments will meet  for what may be the last chance to agree on joint global actions to cut greenhouse gases, to prevent  runaway global warming. This is being called ‘the most important meeting in history’. Millions of people are pressing their governments to do more – and to agree the best policies at Copenhagen, even if some powerful oil, bio-fuel and aviation businesses oppose this.

This peaceful and colourful, family friendly event will show the breadth of local public support for our  campaign.  We will have a wide-ranging platform of speakers and stalls from organisations supporting our aims. You are invited to bring your own delegation/supporters – using your own words and images in support of our aims. If you require a stall or would like to offer a speaker, please contact us.

Assemble 12.00 Chapelfield. Depart 12.30 in a procession, via shopping streets, to the Forum. Rally at Forum 1.15-2.00. Bring banners and displays to express your views and support.

On Saturday 5 December 2009, ahead of the crucial UN climate summit in Copenhagen, tens of thousands of people from all walks of life will flow through the streets of London to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future for all. We want the UK Government to show leadership at Copenhagen. We want them to Protect the Poorest, Act Fair & Fast, and to Quit Dirty Coal now, to inspire the deal the world needs.Join The Wave - the UK’s biggest ever demonstration in support of action on climate change.
