==Free Film Show: Jerusalem The East Side Story, Thu Mar. 5th, 7.00 pm, UEA Arts Block 01.02==
 +
The film will be followed by a discussion led by members of Norwich Stop
 +
the War Coalition.

 +
In 1948, the western part of the city fell under Israeli control: in 1967,
 +
the eastern part fell under Israeli occupation. Since then, Israel has
 +
pursued a policy of Judaizing the city, aiming to achieve "Jewish
 +
demographic superiority". Part of this policy is to drive Palestinian
 +
Muslims and Christians out of the city: denying their presence, history
 +
and ties to the land.
 +
 +
The film looks at Israeli policy, interviewing Palestinian and Israeli
 +
leaders, human rights activists and political analysts. It also poses the
 +
question of the future of the city, which some believe is the key to
 +
peace.
 +
 +
The film is shown by NSTWC in conjunction with Hazel Marsh.
