| ==Sat 26th November, Greenhouse: The African Climate Connection==
| To Mark the forthcoming United Nations climate talks to be held in Durban South Africa, an African themed photographic exhibition will take place at the Greenhouse Environment Centre, Bethel Street, Norwich. On Saturday 26 November at 11:00am, Norwich South MP Simon Wright will declare the exhibition open. Norwich North MP Chloe Smith has also bee invited and we are waiting for her to confirm.
| The event aims to help make the connection between our local community and the talks in Africa and is one of a number taking place throughout the country. Following the opening, Mr. Wright will meet constituents and local campaigners from Stop Climate Chaos Coalition member organisations as well as key individuals from the City.

| |||
| About | ||
| Occupy Norwich | ||
| We are the 99% of Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom.
| |||
| Occupy Norwich is inspired by Occupy Wall Street, a leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders, abilities and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%.
| |||
| The US action has inspired similar peaceful actions in the UK.
| |||
| We are totally supportive of other Occupy initiatives, and feel there is value in responses on a regional level too, not everyone can get to London (Occupy the London Stock Exchange), not everyone can drop everything and leave, not everyone can afford to travel far etc etc. So that's why we started this non-violent protest in Norwich!
| |||
| WHERE: | ||
| |||
| The Haymarket in Norwich (NR2 1QD)
| |||
| WHEN: | ||
| |||
| From Saturday October 15th until - who knows? This is an ongoing organic movement which we hope may continue until December.
| |||
| WHAT TO BRING: | ||
| |||
| Yourselves, friends, family! We need people! You may also like to bring placards, food & drink, and warm clothing if you intend to stay longer term/overnight.
| |||
| Please note that there are updated Need/want lists which appear on the Facebook group and the online Forum.
| |||
| Together we talk and plan, make friends, reconnect with our local community, share our grievances, discuss solutions, and make it OURS!
| |||
| Please also connect with us if you're planning something in your town/city. We will gladly befriend and Twitter follow all of our friends :-)
| |||
| Occupy EVERYWHERE! | ||
| |||
| Please remember that this is a totally non-violent protest, and we expect everyone to behave within the law. Thank you.

| '''Philosophy against depression, Eugen Fischer'''
| Many people have strong ideas about what makes a person valuable and life worthwhile. Few of us make them explicit. But most of us fall ill when we, rightly or wrongly, feel that our lives fall short of our ideals, and this discrepancy is a major source of depression. Some of the ideals and assumptions that have frequently proven depressogenic include: “My value as a person depends greatly on what others think of me.” “Only people who are in some way outstanding are worthwhile.” “If a person is not a success, then his life is meaningless.” We will explore how one can intelligently question and assess these ethical assumptions which shape our lives.

| ''''''Philosophy of money and consumption.''' Davide Rizza & David Rojo Arjona'''We often accept economic practices as a given. Yet we have a financial market in which intangible ‘goods’ like public debt can be bought and sold. We have transactions that allow people to make profits by merely purchasing and reselling currencies, i.e. independently of the production or ownership of any valuable goods. These aspects of the economy have an obvious impact on our life: globally, they shape governmental policies; locally they mould the values that we attach to money and wealth. We will provoke you to think about these problems, from both a philosophical and an economic standpoint.
