The film THE PROMISE directed by Peter Kosminsky and starring Christian Cooke and Claire Foy (shown earlier this year on Channel 4) will be shown at the Friends Meeting House Upper Goat Lane, Norwich NR2 1EW.  As it is a long film it will be shown over 2 days on the 29th and 30th October 2011

THE PROMISE sets a turbulent and moving story against the backdrop of the world's most complex, tragic and intractable conflict - that between Israel and Palestine. It is set in two timeframes - Israel today, and the British Mandate period after the Second World War, just before the modern state of Israel was created.
