An annual rally is held each September in the Norfolk village of Burston to remember the Strike School.  This school represented the ‘longest strike in history’ when pupils from Burston school went on strike to protest at the sacking of their teachers; Tom and Kitty Higdon.

The pupils though, were not having their free-thinking teachers sacked, and went on strike, effectively creating a new school.

Waveney Greenpeace have decided to hold a Waveney Greenpeace Celebration Gig on  2010 from 12pm until 11pm at Hulver Farm, St Michael, Bungay. This event will only involve music and food and drink stalls. It will cost £5 per person and £5 per car. The first band confirmed are Rabo de Foguete a Brazilian Samba band from Norwich. http://www.myspace.com/rabodefoguete

Even as the scientists are telling us action on climate change is becoming ever more urgent the politicians are dithering again – no climate treaty was produced at the last UN talks in Copenhagen, and every year we waste brings us closer to a tipping point beyond which climate change becomes unstoppable.

So now is the time for everyone to act together for the sake of our children's future, by joining in the zero carbon world concert for a zero carbon world on 27/28 November, just before the next UN climate summit, to show the politicians that a zero carbon world is possible.
