Copenhagen UN summit: ‘The most important meeting in history’ In December 2009 in Copenhagen (Denmark) the world’s governments will meet for what may be the last chance to agree on joint global actions to cut greenhouse gases, to prevent runaway global warming. This is being called ‘the most important meeting in history’. Millions of people are pressing their governments to do more – and to agree the best policies at Copenhagen, even if some powerful oil, bio-fuel and aviation businesses oppose this. Chris Atkins' unflinching documentary examines how Tony Blair's New Labour has systematically eroded our basic liberties and its themes resonated with British audiences. Shocking, determinedly truthful and scathingly funny, TAKING LIBERTIES combines real stories of liberty loss with cheeky stunts and comment from Mark Thomas, Boris Johnson and Tony Benn as well as other leading politicians, celebrities, human rights organisations, academics and more'.
