==Freedom and Oppression, photo exhibition, May 4th to 26th 2009, Playhouse Bar==

Using the arts as a model for social change The Freedom Theatre is developing the only professional venue for theatre and arts in the north of the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The aim of this project is to empower and give voice to the children of Jenin Refugee Camp through a unique programme of workshops and activities in theatre, supporting arts and multi-media.   

In 2008 a group of children and youth from the Jenin Refugee camp embarked on an artistic journey, exploring the concept of freedom and exposing the oppression which affects Palestinians today – in their homes, their community and as a nation. The results formed the first photography exhibition held by The Freedom Theatre: ‘Freedom and Oppression’

A selection of photographs from the exhibition will be on display at the Playhouse Bar in Norwich from 4th to 26th May 2009.

==A day for HOPE not hate in Great Yarmouth, Sat May 9th, 10.00 am - 2.00 pm, Market Gates/Market Place==

We are inviting MPs, MEPs, councillors and members of ALL mainstream political parties, members of Church and other religious groups, community organisations, trade unions and members of the public to sink their differences for just FOUR HOURS on May 9th and to join together in a show of unity aimed at raising awareness of the true nature of the BNP and of increasing voter turnout - the best chance we have of defeating the British National Party.
 
Our activity will take the form of a mass moving canvass and literature distribution session, starting in the Market Place, moving down Regent Road to the Britannia Pier, then reversing the route. The idea is to engage directly with members of the public. The local Press and TV news will be on hand to interview participants.
 
Non-party political literature devised by HOPE not hate will be made freely available to all participants courtesy of Great Yarmouth and District Trades Council. We regret that we will be unable to cover any personal expenses incurred.
 
We strongly urge you to get involved in the campaign to halt the BNP by donating FOUR HOURS of your free time on May 9th - four hours to stop the BNP shaming Norfolk and the East of England!

==Fundraising Evening for Gaza, Saturday May 23rd==
Norwich PSC and NSTWC are organising a Fundraising Evening for Gaza
in the Belveder Community Centre. This will include Middle
Eastern food and non-alcoholic drinks, music, a charity auction and speakers.
Children are welcome and there is a suitable play aere outside. Please help to raise lots
of money for Gaza. Tickets will be £ 15 per adult, £10 concession, £5 children 12-16 years and
under 12 years free.
