== Film Show: Occupation 101, Thursday, November 6th 2008, UEA Arts 01.02, 7.00 pm==

All welcome!

Occupation 101 is the  winner  of  8  film  festival  awards.  It  lasts  90 minutes.

It is a thought provoking and powerful documentary film on the  current  and
historical root causes  of  the  Israeli-Palestinian  conflict.  Unlike  any
other film produced on the conflict Occupation 101 presents a  comprehensive
analysis of the facts and hidden  truths  surrounding  the  controversy  and
dispels many of its long-perceived myths and misconceptions.

The film will be followed by a discussion led by members of Norwich Stop the War Coalition

Long before cinemas, even before film in fact, moving pictures were presented to audiences via a magic lantern and glass slides. 

Living in the digital age, surrounded and bombarded constantly with moving images on our televisions, on our computers and

even on our phones let alone the cinema, this special

Film and Digital Media Exchange and East Anglian Film Archive

event will recapture what we often think of as a simple time, but what was, in fact, the very exciting beginning of the world be

captured and presented in moving pictures. 

Peter Stibbons will be presenting this special event at the University of East Anglia, Arts Building 1, Room A2.02 from 2-5pm. 
====BBFC – British Board of Film Classification====

Presented by John Wagland

On Wednesday the 19th November 2008 

The BBFC will be giving a unique look into the world of film classification from John Wagland (ex game designer and now BBFC examiner).  John will use various clips to illustrate and contextualise the decision making procedure and demystify this essential process. 

The BBFC is a highly expert and experienced regulator of moving image (especially film, video/DVD and video games), and also a service provider for new and developing media.  As an independent, self-financing regulator, they have a passion for moving images and balance their duty to protect the public with a respect for the right to freedom of expression.
