The Right Reverend Tom Butler, former Bishop of Southwark and regular contributor to Radio 4’s ‘Thought for the Day’, will give the Address. All are welcome and we look forward to joining with you in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International. The former Bishop of Southwark the Rt Rev Tom Butler will give the address. While you are there you might also like to take the opportunity to visit the Chapel of the Holy Innocents where the Amnesty candle is burning throughout the year. This Chapel is under the organ in the centre of the Cathedral. More information and the significance of the Chapel can be found at http://www.cathedral.org.uk/visitorinfo/map-info.aspx?m=1&l=9&p=394 Norwich Amnesty group ==Friday 15 July UNA Lunchbox== Professor Anna Robinson-Pant will talk on ‘Women’s Literacy in Nepal’ ==Monday 18 July, UEA Green Wins or Green Grabs== The first Piers Blaikie Lecture on Environmental Politics, 5-6.30, Thomas Paine Lecture Theatre, The School of International Development will host an annual lecture and drinks reception in honour of Professor Piers Blaikie. Piers joined the school in 1972 and is internationally recognised as one of the founders of the field of political ecology. The lecture will be introduced by Piers, and will be given by Melissa Leach, on Green Wins or Green Grabs: Contested Pathways to Sustainability in Africa. Melissa is professorial fellow at the Institute of Development Studies, Sussex, and has written widely on the environment in Africa. The lecture will present compelling stories from the forests of West Africa. The public lecture will be held at the Thomas Paine Lecture Theatre, University of East Anglia from 5.00pm - 6.30pm and will be followed by a free drinks reception. We warmly invite you to attend. You are welcome to bring family members or friends. We are keen that the event, on the evening before graduation, should be a celebration of DEV, past, present and future!
