=The ‘ONE WORLD COLUMN’ starts to return to print:=
 
Triangle magazine has linked up with six local writers and campaigners who have launched a blog, the ‘One World Column’, to comment on news from a global perspective. 
The blog was launched recently at the East of England Production Innovation Centre in Norwich. Forty guests attended from independent media, social enterprises, environment organisations, trades unions, charities and political campaigns.  
The One World Column was for six years a weekly feature in the Eastern Daily Press, but also published on its own website. Its concerns include international development, poverty, globalisation, peacemaking, human rights, social justice, animals, and the environment.  
The writers decided to develop a partnership with organisations with similar interests (including SCOOP). The blog will now become an online magazine, forum and news network for the region’s progressive organisations, and will incorporate the SCOOP calendar: http://oneworldcolumn.blogspot.com/p/calendar.html. And Triangle have agreed to publish blog extracts in print, on a regular basis. 
 OWC blogger Charlotte Du Cann, said: ‘We want to establish a relationship with like-minded writers, NGOs, artists and others throughout the region, to develop the One World Column as an asset for us all. You can reach us at oneworldcolumn@gmail.com to be part of this venture.’ 
Fellow OWC writer Rupert Read added: “It’s great that Triangle are bringing us on board, so that we are back in print..."

Can you imagine a group of people in Norwich offering the public thirty minutes of nothing at all? The Norwich Quaker Meeting is doing something similar.
„Silence is a pretty scarce commodity in modern times, what with mobile phones, continuous music, social networking and non-stop demands from others around us,‟ said Deb Arrowsmith of Norwich Quaker Meeting. „People will appreciate an oasis of stillness at the end of the afternoon, helping them to get more out of the rest of their day. ==From Rags to Stiches: Working Life in Norwich 28 February – 9 March at Fusion in the Forum free admission!==
King Street Community Voices oral history project volunteers and interviewees have helped to create a new film being shown at the big screen in Fusion in the Forum (on your left as you walk towards the library). The filmshow includes wonderful archive footage of Norwich industries and crafts courtesy of the East Anglian Film Archive. King Street Community Voices recorded a commentary for one of the films, ‘Car Trip Through Norwich’ which takes a tour round the city streets in 1950. Interviewees were recorded describing the route, how buildings and streets have changed, plus their personal recollections of Norwich as it was 60 years ago.
Please support Dragon Hall and King Street Community Voices by visiting Fusion to see the film, and say hello to members of the team who will be on hand in Fusion reception to talk to visitors and hopefully sign up some new participants for the oral history project. It is free to enter and open to all!

Reaching Out to
Women and Children of the Global South
We want to celebrate what women of the Global South do and what women of Norfolk do.
On the 4th March you will hear about some of the big things that are being achieved by global
action on the millennium development goals.
However, we know that often the small things have the biggest effect and want to share stories of
Norfolk women's own charity projects; as well as fund raising, sponsorship and other projects
aimed at women and children of the Global South, undertaken by Norfolk women and their
communities.
We need pictures as well as words. We could display A3 collages, but are using the screen of
Fusion (Europe’s largest permanent digital screen gallery).

As soon as possible, and in any case by Monday 7th February. This is a big ask and a tight
deadline … … but there are many small, fascinating projects based in Norfolk that it would be
wonderful to hear about. Please help us if you can!

==1st to 12th March “ANOTHER ISRAEL” AN EXHIBITION AT THE HOSTRY, NORWICH CATHEDRAL==
ANOTHER ISRAEL Exhibition celebrates dissenting voices from diverse communities within Israel who oppose the politics of occupation and the abuse of Palestinian human rights. 
This exhibition was  displayed at the Forum in 2009 as part of the annual Peace Camp and there is now another chance to see it at The Hostry during March. 

This exhibition celebrates a variety of Israeli groups that strive to make a difference, working with Palestinian groups towards an Israel that respects all of its citizens and treats them equally, an Israel that lives at peace with its neighbours and abides by international law.

These groups do not figure in any official Israeli celebrations, but their existence and the courage of their members are truly worthy of note. The multiple deprivations of the million or so Palestinian citizens of Israel also require recognition.

It is supported by Jews for Justice for Palestinians, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD-UK) and Independent Jewish Voices.  www.anotherisrael.org.uk 
Norfolk Jewish Peace Group is primarily concerned with human rights and international law insofar as these impact upon the situation in Israel-Palestine. The Group meets regularly to share information and support projects that promote a just and lasting peace for Palestinians and Israelis. From time to time the Group organises public events, arranges meetings and exhibitions; it works with Muslim, Christian and other peace and interfaith groups concerned with peace in Israel-Palestine.

We shall show a short film with footage smuggled from the
boat showing the moment of Israel's brutal attack, which left 9  people
dead and many injured. Then Alex Lort Phillips, who was aboard the Mavi Marmara will give an
eye witness account followed by a question and answer session.

==Grapes Hill Community Garden Group - Public Meeting,Monday 14th March, Belvedere Centre, Belvoir Street,7.30-8.30, all welcome==
We have 4 new dates for volunteers to take part in garden work days.  They are Sunday 13th March 2011, Sunday 27th March 2011, Sunday 3rd April
Meet at the garden, 11am.  Tasks will vary, but should include planting perennials and shrubs, sowing a wildflower meadow, sowing vegetable seeds and laying turf.
