==Mile Cross Festival,Sloughbottom Park, July 3rd 12-5== http://www.milecrosscommunity.ik.com/ Hi everyone, Greenpeace are running a stall at the Mile Cross festival in Sloughbottom Park this Saturday (3 July). This will focus on the BP tar sands campaign and also on trying to rercruit more people to the local Greenpeace group. I need help with manning the stall, which runs from 12 - 5pm, so if anyone can lend a hand for an hour or two then it would be much appreciated. FREE Carers Wellbeing Programme This is a new 10 week programme specifically designed for Carers in Norfolk looking caring for someone with a mental health problem. The aim of the programme is to give Carers the opportunity for learning and reflection about their caring role, gain new skills and greater insight of mental health issues in an informal and relaxed environment. The programmes will run in various areas across Norfolk with one workshop each week from 10am to Midday. *Respite care can be arranged through Crossroads Helpline on 0808 808 9876 =Transition Events= ==Friday 9th July, Transition Circle Hethersett,7pm== We are inviting people from Hethersett to come to a free series of four discussions which aim to help people reduce their carbon footprint. The topics will be - Direct energy, Transport, Food, Embodied energy/waste. The discussions will be for about 10 people and will explore carbon reduction for households and will exchange information about the practical steps that everyone is taking/can take. The Mayor is coming and so is the Town Crier. The Norwich Samba Band will once again lead the Parade. The Forum will be brimming with stalls and buzzing from the intellectual debate in the lectures! Outside on Millennium Plain we've got huge, interactive dance demos in the morning including bhangra, latin american and line dancing; and Future Radio are going to do a live broadcast. The Pride Picnic is at Chapelfield Gardens from 12-2pm so bring a delicious lunch and relax and enjoy the entertainment on the bandstand. There will be activities for the kids, a poetry corner and performance artists around the park. The Pride Show on Millennium Plain starts at 3pm and is filled with the cream of local talent - lineup to be announced soon. There's an Arts Trail around the city; and in the evening there's parties planned in the Catherine Wheel, Castle and Coach and Horses as well as Flamenco Dancing at St Gregory's Church and LadyFest at the Arts Centre. And the rainbow bus is coming - see below.... "The biggest, gayest bus in the world"!... The Rainbow Bus, the "biggest, gayest bus in the world" is coming to Norwich Pride! The Rainbow Bus is from Pink Punters Nightclub in Milton Keynes and will be on Millennium Plain outside the Forum on Saturday 31st July. The Rainbow Bus operates on a 'not for profit' basis with its primary role to promote and support national LGBT issues/events/campaigns and charities. Rainbow Operations are also kindly providing our stage and sounds system.
